How much Stripchat makes: an estimate from DSA data

Stripchat doesn’t publish financials, but EU law (the Digital Services Act) makes it disclose its active users in the EU. From that number revenue can be estimated — step by step:

  1. ~20m monthly active users in the EU (Stripchat DSA report, 2024; range 16–26.6m) [21][22][23]
  2. ~130m monthly active users worldwide — if the EU is ~15% of the audience (by traffic geography) [5][27]
  3. ~2m paying users a month — if ~1.5% pay (on Chaturbate 1 in 200 visitors tips) [25]
  4. ~$1.2bn gross spend a year — at ~$50 a month per paying user [26]
  5. 40–50% kept by the platform: the model gets $0.05 per token that viewers buy for $0.08–0.11 [24]
≈ $0.5–1bn Stripchat revenue a year — estimate For scale: 1% of that revenue is $5–10m a year.

Traffic cross-check: Chaturbate was measured at $0.13–0.18 in tips per visit; Stripchat with its mirror domains gets about 0.8–0.9bn visits a month. That’s $1.3–2bn gross a year and $0.5–1bn revenue — without private shows, so if anything on the low side. [5][25][27]

This is an estimate, not reported financials: Stripchat counts its users with its own method (the European Commission disputed it), and the paying share and average spend on cam sites are not disclosed publicly.

Cam platform economics

30–80% goes to the model — depends on the site and the model’s tier [12][13]
20–25% lifetime RevShare paid to webmasters by market leaders [14]
~10–15% cost of payment processing in the high-risk (adult) segment [15]

Investment scenario

A 3-year example: models ramp up to plan over 12 months, then stay flat. Every value is editable — these are your assumptions, not a forecast.

Simplified model: no taxes, refunds or chargebacks. Processing fees are charged on total turnover. A scenario for discussion, not a promise of returns.

Risks and how to reduce them

Age verification

25–27 US states have age-verification laws (upheld by the Supreme Court in June 2025). UK Online Safety Act fines reach £18m or 10% of revenue; EU DSA fines up to 6% of turnover. [16][17][18]

Payment-network rules

Since 2021 Mastercard requires verification of all performers, moderation and content removal on complaints. Visa’s chargeback threshold dropped to 1.5% (April 2026). [19][20]

A maturing market

Growth at the leaders is slowing: OnlyFans +9–10% a year, LiveJasmin revenue down about 10% in 2025. Niche projects with a strong product and their own traffic win. [8][9][11]

Krona.Chat already has performer verification (KYC), country geo-blocking, moderation and a complaints (DMCA) page; visitor age verification can be added, e.g. via Yoti.

The online segment ($37bn) is part of the whole market ($58–67bn); the estimates come from different firms, so the online share can’t be derived exactly. Research-firm estimates disagree and usually include sex toys and offline sales; there is no reliable estimate for the webcam segment alone. Traffic figures are Similarweb model estimates. Cam sites don’t publish financial accounts.
